Olga Ho­tra Boshonek, 90, of Elk­ton, MD passed away on July 21, 2016. Born June 3, 1926 in Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD, Olga was the daugh­ter of the late, Alexan­der Ho­tra and Tekla (Pod­wirna) Ho­tra.Olga was mar­ried to John Boshonek at St. Ge­orge’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on the Lower East Side of New York City on Oc­to­ber 11, 1947. John had served as a Seaman’s First Class in the U.S. Navy dur­ing WWII sta­tioned aboard sev­eral bat­tle­ships. They shared 36 years of mar­riage be­fore John passed away.

Olga grad­u­ated from High School in Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD and went on to work as a dic­ta­phone tran­scrip­tion­ist at Bing­ham­ton Psy­chi­atric Cen­ter in New York, where she re­tired from. She was de­voted to her faith and her Ukrainian her­itage. She was a long term parish­ioner at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church where she also served as the choir di­rec­tor. She was a proud mem­ber of the Blue Army at Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion in Elk­ton, MD. Olga loved the ocean and es­pe­cially en­joyed many fond mem­o­ries with her daugh­ter, Kaethe in Ocean City, MD.

Olga is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Kaethe Skye of Elk­ton, MD; sis­ter, He­len Eder and her hus­band, Jack of Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD; brother-in-law, Wal­ter Boshonek and his wife, Joyce of Wil­liams­burg, VA; and nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, grand nieces and grand neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Olga was pre­ceded in death by her four sis­ters and four broth­ers.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be held for Olga on Wed­nes­day, July 27, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, 231 Basil Av­enue, S. Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD 21915. A pub­lic visi­ta­tion will be held on Tues­day, July 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM with a Panachyda prayer ser­vice be­gin­ning at 7:30PM at R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A., 318 Ge­orge Street, Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD 21915. Burial will fol­low at St. Rose of Lima Ceme­tery.
