Attempted arson leaves $500 worth of damage

— An attempted arson caused $ 500 worth of damage to a mobile home and shed, according to Maryland State Fire Marshal officials. Paul Domanksi, the owner of the mobile home and shed located at 645 Knights Island Road in the Indian Acres community in Earleville, was last at his property two weeks ago. When he returned on Tuesday morning, he saw the scorch marks on his 10- by- 30- foot home and 8- by- 10- foot shed, according to a release.
Domanski called the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office at 9: 41 a. m., Sr. Deputy State Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire said. He said when the deputies arrived they saw the scorch marks and then called the fire marshal’s office.
Alkire said some type of open flame devices were placed up against the trailer and shed at multiple areas, but did not ignite.
He said no injuries or deaths were reported. “It’s under investigation,” Alkire said. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Northeast Regional Office at ( 410) 836- 4844.
