An­nual ‘Rockestra’ show fea­tures hits from the 80s

— A rare com­bi­na­tion of rock mu­sic, or­ches­tral in­stru­ments and singers will take cen­ter stage when Cecil Col­lege Mu­sic and Theatre presents “Rockestra 2016: Pour Some 80s on Me” at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5, in the Per­form­ing Arts Hall of the col­lege’s Elk­ton Sta­tion.

A year af­ter cel­e­brat­ing the 90s, Cecil stu­dents and


fac­ulty mem­bers are look­ing for­ward to play­ing songs from the decade of excess with an en­er­getic and an­i­mated per­for­mance.

Tick­ets, which are $15, and $5 for stu­dents and se­niors, can be pur­chased by phone at 410-287-1037 or online at­burn­stone. org. If the concerts are not sold out ahead of time, tick­ets can also be bought at the door, at 107 Rail­road Ave. in Elk­ton, by cash or check.

Cecil Col­lege’s Per­form­ing Arts Pro­gram of­fers As­so­ciate of Arts de­grees in mu­sic, mu­sic/voice and theatre per­for­mance/act­ing. The pro­gram helps stu­dents pre­pare for trans­fer to fouryear col­leges, ini­tial em­ploy­ment, or ca­reer ad­vance­ment in the per­form­ing arts.
