Is­abelle Clark Lynch, 91, of North East, MD, passed away on Wed­nes­day, July 27, 2016. Born in Ox­ford, PA, on Nov. 20, 1924, she was the daugh­ter of Joseph and Es­ther Clark Lynch.

Miss Lynch grad­u­ated from North East High School and Sal­is­bury State Teacher’s Col­lege. She was re­tired from the DuPont Com­pany. She de­voted her life to pub­lic ser­vice and was honored with the Cit­i­zen of the Year and the Women’s Trailblazer Awards. Miss Lynch was ac­tive in the Demo­cratic Party serv­ing on the county and state Demo­cratic Cen­tral Com­mit­tee and was a Mary­land pres­i­den­tial elec­tor in 1980. She was a faith­ful mem­ber of St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church serv­ing as the first fe­male vestry mem­ber and as trea­surer. She also served on the boards of the Cecil County Pub­lic Li­brary, Mary­land Li­brary Com­mis­sion and Cecil Com­mu­nity Col­lege Board of Trus­tees. Ad­di­tion­ally she was ac­tive in the Women’s Club of Cecil County, Women’s Col­lege Club, North East Wa­ter Fes­ti­val, His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety of Cecil County and Cecil County Lit­er­ary Coun­cil.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents and three si­b­lings: Louise Ross, Robert Lynch and Edith Rose Wal­beck.

Miss Lynch is sur­vived by her sis­ter, Eli­nor Schrack of Lower Gwynedd, PA; her nieces and nephew: Sharon Beales of Eas­ton, PA, Bar­bara Lee Eng­land of Elk­ton, David Wal­beck of Ran­cho Pa­los Verdes, CA, and Pa­tri­cia Mur­phy of North East; and 10 great nieces and neph­ews.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 10 a.m. on Satur­day, July 30th at Gilpin Manor Memo­rial Park, Elk­ton, MD.
