Ruth L. Crouse, a res­i­dent of Bel Air, MD, passed away at the age of 87 on July 31, 2016 at Ja­cobs Well As­sisted Liv­ing in Bel Air.

She was born in Renick, WV, to Thomas and Rena ( Hank­ins) Whi­taker and was the wife of the late Wade T. Crouse. A home­maker, she en­joyed time with fam­ily and friends. She also en­joyed quilt­ing, card games and pic­nics.

Sur­vivors in­clude her daugh­ters: Patty R. My­ers (Dale) and Teresa K. Flaugher (Bruce); her sis­ter Ann Livezey; her grand­chil­dren: Dawn Miller (Brad), Mary Lisa Schaedel (Brian), Brian Flaugher (Lau­rie) and Alan Flaugher (Car­rie); and her great-grand­chil­dren: Matthew and Emily Miller, Alisa and Brynn Schaedel, Vince Gold­stone, Ethan and Jakob Flaugher, Alivia, Blake and Lo­gan Flaugher.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents and hus­band, she was pre­de­ceased by her daugh­ter, Bar­bie Crouse; her sis­ters, Mary Paulin and Ari­etta Glass­man; and her brother, Joe Whi­taker.

A vis­i­ta­tion will be at the fam­ily owned and op­er­ated McCo­mas Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Bel Air, MD, on Thurs­day, Au­gust 4, from 7-9 p.m. and on Fri­day, Au­gust 5 from 10-11 a.m. Ser­vices will be at the fu­neral home on Fri­day at 11 a.m. with in­ter­ment to fol­low at Bel Air Memo­rial Gar­dens.
