Singerly Fire Com­pany to host pa­rade

— A pa­rade full of fire trucks and fire fight­ers will march through down­town Satur­day af­ter­noon be­gin­ning at 1 p. m.

Mem­bers of the Cum­ber­land Val­ley Vol­un­teer Fire­fighter’s As­so­ci­a­tion have been meet­ing all week at lo­ca­tions in Ce­cil

and Har­ford coun­ties as part of their 115th an­nual con­ven­tion, with pro­grams that be­gan on Wed­nes­day and run through Satur­day.

Mem­bers of the Singerly Vol­un­teer Fire Com­pany are in charge of the pa­rade, which will have more than 50 units from fire com­pa­nies in Mary- land, Delaware, Penn­syl­va­nia and the rest of the mid- At­lantic states.

Singerly spokesman John Den­ver said pa­rade­go­ers will see both an­tique and mod­ern fire equip­ment along the route as well as le­gions of marchers rep­re­sent­ing the fire com­pa­nies.

The route starts on Delaware Av­enue from Meadow Park. The pa­rade will then travel to Main Street and move west­ward to North Street. Den­ver said the judges’ stand would be lo­cated on North Street. The route ends where North Street meets Rail­road Av­enue.
