Singerly Fire Company to host parade
— A parade full of fire trucks and fire fighters will march through downtown Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p. m.
Members of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association have been meeting all week at locations in Cecil
and Harford counties as part of their 115th annual convention, with programs that began on Wednesday and run through Saturday.
Members of the Singerly Volunteer Fire Company are in charge of the parade, which will have more than 50 units from fire companies in Mary- land, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the rest of the mid- Atlantic states.
Singerly spokesman John Denver said paradegoers will see both antique and modern fire equipment along the route as well as legions of marchers representing the fire companies.
The route starts on Delaware Avenue from Meadow Park. The parade will then travel to Main Street and move westward to North Street. Denver said the judges’ stand would be located on North Street. The route ends where North Street meets Railroad Avenue.
