Clinton will only help herself

Cecil Whig - - OPINION -

After the two political conventions, the news medium would have us believe that the Republicans have nominated Simon Legree and the Democrats have nominated Mother Theresa.

To be blunt, Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who will do and say anything to gain power. Once in power, she has shown time and again that she will use her position to enrich herself and her family. She cares not a whit about children, the elderly, the military, law enforcement, minorities or any other group unless she thinks they can help her in some way. She has an impressive resume but no ac- complishments (unless you count the ability to stay out of jail while committing multiple felonies).

With almost eight years of a Democrat in the White House, the economy has been and still is bouncing around barely above recession levels. Foreign policy (Clinton’s supposed wheelhouse) is a shambles, due largely to her four years as Secretary of State. According to recent polls 68 percent of people think Clinton is dishonest and do not trust her; 82 percent of people think the country is on the wrong track. Yet Clinton promises us another “Obama term,” more of the same. She must think the American people are either very gullible or brain dead. Unfortunately she may be right.

P.T. Barnum said that “There’s a fool born every minute.” Based on the number of people who appear to be supporting Clinton in this election it is obvious that Barnum was not a statistician.
