Kids par­tic­i­pate in an­nual River­Fest fish­ing tour­na­ment

— The an­nual River­Fest Kid’s Fish­ing Tour­na­ment took place on Satur­day at the town wharf.

River­Fest, now in its 13th straight year, was once an an­nual event in town. Though the fes­ti­val no longer takes place, the fish­ing tour­na­ment still does to the de­light of young par­tic­i­pants.

The tour­na­ment be­gan at 9 a.m. and lunch and was fol­lowed by awards at the Veteran’s Park Pav­il­ion. The event is

spon­sored by the North­ern Bay chap­ter of the Mary­land Salt­wa­ter Sports­fish­ing As­so­ci­a­tion.

Kids age 4 to 16 can par­tic­i­pate in one of the three age groups. The top three win­ners in the 4 to 8 year old group were Finn Walker, Jodee Sal­dutti and Shane Smith.

In the 9 to 11 year old group, the top three were Joseph Hol­brook, Kam­ren Collins and Chris Marks and in the 11 to 16 year old group, the top three were Sam Mistler, Nick Ca­pano and Chase Reese.
