FOOT­BALL Ce­cil County Ju­nior Foot­ball League

Ce­cil County Ju­nior Foot­ball League set to kick­off its 46th sea­son!

As teams, coaches, players and cheer­lead­ers from all around the county make fi­nal prepa­ra­tions to be­gin an­other sea­son of foot­ball, Ce­cil County’s old­est youth foot­ball league will kick­off its 46th year in op­er­a­tion. The Ce­cil County Ju­nior Foot­ball League (CCJFL) con­sist of six teams that are strate­gi­cally lo­cated through­out Ce­cil County. Each team has four squads based on age. Teams in­clude, the Ris­ing Sun Tigers, North East In­di­ans, Per­ryville Pan­thers, Cherry Hill Cougars, Elk­ton Elks, and the Bo Manor Ea­gles. Teams will be­gin their in­di­vid­ual foot­ball camps on Mon­day, Aug. 1, and run un­til Thurs­day, Aug. 4. Reg­u­lar prac­tices will be­gin Mon­day, Aug. 8.

Super Sum­mer Camps

Sum­mer ses­sions start the week of June 13. Camps in­clude: Ad­ven­ture Camp, mul­ti­ple soc­cer camps for all ages, Base­ball Camp, Paint Camp, Ten­nis Camp, Track and Field Camp, Girls’ Lacrosse Camp, Dance Camp, Preschool Sports Camp, Safe­tyville (Ris­ing Sun High School and Elk Neck El­e­men­tary), Olympic Camp and Minute to Win it Camp!

Speed and Agility Clinic

Triple Threat Train­ing will host a Speed and Agility Clinic for chil­dren en­ter­ing grades 2-12. Im­prove speed, quick­ness, agility, lat­eral mo­bil­ity and ex­plo­sive­ness. Adult Soc­cer League

Teams are guar­an­teed eight games in the first out­door league held on the Calvert Park turf. Games will be short-sided 6 on 6 on Satur­day and Sun­day nights start­ing in Septem­ber. Must be 18 or older to play. Cost is $400 per team plus $20 ref­eree fees each week. If in­ter­ested in en­ter­ing a team, con­t­cat David Mencer at dmencer@cc­gov.org.

Minute to Win It Camp

Campers will play pop­u­lar Minute to Win It games that chal­lenge them both phys­i­cally and men­tally, in­clud­ing out­door water games. Snack and drink are pro­vided daily. Camp runs Au­gust 15-19 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Ris­ing Sun Com­mu­nity Cen­ter. Cost is $75.

Princess Camp

Princess Camp is a chance to feel and act like a real princess! Each day will be a chance to learn about princesses from around the world, past and present, learn table and so­cial eti­quette, work on princess crafts and much more! Princess Camp will run from Au­gust 8-12, from 9

a.m.-noon daily at the Ris­ing Sun Com­mu­nity Cen­ter. The camp is open to chil­dren ages 5-10. Snack and drink will be pro­vided each day. Cost of the camp is $75.

Drop-in Soc­cer

Drop-in Soc­cer will take place on Tues­day evenings from 8-10 p.m. on the Calvert Re­gional Park turf through­out the month of Au­gust, be­gin­ning Aug. 2. Must be 16-plus to play. Cost is $5 to any­one that at­tends.

Calvert Park Open Turf

The Calvert Re­gional Park turf field will be open to the pub­lic through­out the month of Au­gust on Mon­day and Fri­day evenings from 6-8:30 p.m., and on Tues­day and Thurs­day morn­ings from 8-10:30 a.m. The first open day will be Aug. 1. The field can be used for pre­sea­son or in-sea­son train­ing, con­di­tion­ing, etc. Lacrosse goals, soc­cer goals, field hockey goals and foot­ball goal posts will be on the field. We ask that any­one us­ing the field be re­spect­ful of oth­ers and share the space.

YMCA Youth Out­door Field Hockey League

Ev­ery Satur­day from Sept. 10-Oct. 29. There will be three di­vi­sions for grades 1-8.

Grades 1-3 will prac­tice 9-10 a.m.; Grades 4-5 will prac­tice 10-11:30 a.m.; Grades 6-8 will prac­tice 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Youth Vol­ley­ball League

Ev­ery Mon­day and Wed­nes­day from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the YMCA be­gin­ning Sept. 12. There will be two new di­vi­sions: el­e­men­tary grades 1-5 and mid­dle school grades 6-8. Teams will prac­tice/play once a week. Reg­is­tra­tion be­gins Aug. 8. For more in­for­ma­tion call 410-392-9622.
