To the town of Elk­ton for try­ing some­thing new to in­crease lo­cal in­volve­ment and re­de­fine what the com­mu­nity looks and feels like. On Tues­day, the Elk­ton Cham­ber and Al­liance along with town busi­nesses and gov­ern­ment agen­cies took to town streets to film a pro­mo­tional video set to the tune of Justin Tim­ber­lake’s “Can’t Stop the Feel­ing.” Jenn Par­sons and Jes­sica Price, mem­bers of the Elk­ton Cham­ber and Al­liance’s pro­mo­tions com­mit­tee, came up with the idea for the pro­mo­tional mu­sic video a few months ago af­ter see­ing Tim­ber­lake’s orig­i­nal video, which shows peo­ple danc­ing in ev­ery­day places such as a laun­dro­mat, a diner and a bar­ber­shop. The Elk­ton video, which doesn’t yet have an of­fi­cial re­lease date, is the first video pro­mot­ing busi­nesses in town and will feature about 20 town groups. It aims to show­case Elk­ton’s busi­nesses, change peo­ple’s pre­con­ceived no­tions about the town and give peo­ple a chance to see ev­ery­thing the town has to of­fer. She also hopes peo­ple will see the town in high spir­its and in a pos­i­tive light. Af­ter wit­ness­ing a bit of the film­ing, we think they’ll do just that. We can’t wait to see the fi­nal prod­uct.
