Florence C. Rig­gins, age 79, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 10, 2016. Born in Ch­ester, PA, on May 13, 1937, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ed­ward and Mar­garet Glen­nan Wat­son.

A home­maker, Mrs. Rig­gins had worked for many years in the fam­ily business, Margie’s Hoagie Shop, Wood­lyn, PA. She was a mem­ber of Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church, Elk­ton, and for­mer mem­ber of St. John Fisher Church, Booth­wyn, PA. Mrs. Rig­gins had been a Girl Scout leader and loved flower and veg­etable gar­den­ing. She also en­joyed fish­ing, sewing, roller skat­ing, and danc­ing.

Sur­vivors in­clude her hus­band of 58 years, Ray­mond J. Rig­gins; chil­dren, Ge­or­giana Byrne, Booth­wyn, PA, Flossie Fritz and hus­band, Todd, Gar­net Val­ley, PA, and Ray Rig­gins, Jr., Booth­wyn, PA; sis­ter, Mar­garet Ben­ning­ton and hus­band, Lee, Ear­leville, MD; 7 grand­chil­dren; and 6 great-grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Mrs. Rig­gins was pre­ceded in death by her brother, Ed­die Wat­son.

Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated at 11 a.m., Mon­day, Au­gust 15, 2016, at Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church, 454 Bow Street, Elk­ton, MD, where vis­i­ta­tion
