Verna Amelia McKin­ney, 85, of North East, MD, died Fri­day, Au­gust 12, 2016.

A life­long res­i­dent of North East, she was born on Dec. 18, 1930, the daugh­ter of the late Charles Daniel and Bertha (Hev­erin) Palmer. She was the wife of the late Edgar R. McKin­ney Sr. who died on June 30, 1993.

Mrs. McKin­ney is sur­vived by one son: Edgar McKin­ney Jr. of Elk­ton, MD; three sis­ters: Louise Fil­lip­pone, Teresa Heath and Selma Har­vey; three broth­ers: Jack, Fred and Jerry Palmer; and three grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band and par­ents, she was also pre­ceded in death by two sons: Charles Daniel McKin­ney and Keith Lee McKin­ney; a sis­ter: Marylee Owens; and three broth­ers: Gino Palmer, Lewis Hev­erin and Dren­nard “Tat­ter” Reynolds.

Funeral ser­vices, con­ducted by Fa­ther John Scha­ef­fer, will be held on Mon­day, Au­gust 15, 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main St., North East, MD, with vis­i­ta­tion be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. un­til ser­vice time.

In­ter­ment will fol­low in North East Methodist Ceme­tery.
