R.S. Chamber donates to Cecil College scholarship
— The Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce recently contributed $1,500 to the Cecil College Foundation in support of the Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Scholarship.
Established in 2015, the scholarship was designed to help students pursuing a healthcare degree or certificate at Cecil to achieve their goals of entering the medical field. The Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Scholarship is fully funded by the Rising Sun Health Fair, which is run by a committee of several chamber members and coordinated by Stone Run Family Medicine in Rising Sun. Since the profit from the an-
nual event comes solely from vendors in the medical field, the chamber felt that supporting healthcare students was a natural fit.
The mission of the Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce is to promote commercial and business prosperity in Rising Sun and its surrounding communities and to promote growth and development of business and professional services, both large and small, with respect to improving both commercial and residential conditions. Thanks to its fundraising events, scholarships are able to be created and funded.
The 10th annual Rising Sun Health Fair will be held from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. Oct. 21, at Grace Bible Chapel. For more information, visit www. rshealthfair. com.
