Wil­liam Jeremiah Ste­wart, Jr. of Lutherville-Ti­mo­nium, MD, for­merly of Bal­ti­more, MD, passed away on Au­gust 24, 2016.

He was the fourth of 8 chil­dren of Wil­liam J. Ste­wart, Sr. and Cather­ine Ma­son Ste­wart, born in Port De­posit, Mary­land on July 18, 1938. He served in the Army from 1961 un­til he was hon­or­ably dis­charged in 1964. He was a teacher and coun­selor in many Bal­ti­more City pub­lic schools un­til he re­tired in 2007. He will be re­mem­bered most for his love of fam­ily, travel and ad­ven­ture and his con­tin­u­ous quest for knowl­edge.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents and 3 broth­ers, Dou­glas, Ge­orge and Richard Ste­wart.

He is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Jen­nifer Ste­wart, Fair­fax, VA and his son, Jeremy Ste­wart (Jes­sica), Manns Har­bor, NC; 2 grand­sons, Jayce and Sea­mus Ste­wart; 2 broth­ers, Robert Ste­wart, Port De­posit, MD and John Ste­wart (Catalina), Bal­ti­more, MD; 2 sis­ters, Joanne Wal­ton (Arthur), Cleve­land, Ohio and Rose­mary Wat­son (Jesse), San Diego, CA; sis­ter-in law, Loretta Ste­wart (Ge­orge); 11 nieces and neph­ews; 9 great nieces and neph­ews; one great great nephew; 2 aunts Edythe Ma­son and Rosie Ma­son, both of Bal­ti­more, MD; his fi­ancé, Lucy Charles; and many cousins and friends.

The me­mo­rial ser­vice will be Satur­day, Au­gust 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Vaughn C. Greene Fu­neral Ser­vices, 4905 York Road Bal­ti­more, Mary­land (21212).
