Mar­garet El­iz­a­beth Sul­li­van Rakes

Mar­garet El­iz­a­beth Sul­li­van Rakes, 69 yrs, of North East, MD, passed away on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 24, 2016 sur­rounded by her loved ones. Born Novem­ber 17, 1946 in John­son City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Gene Sul­li­van, her late mother, Pauline Pyle, and her late step­fa­ther, Ge­orge Pyle.

Mar­garet was a de­voted wife to her lov­ing hus­band of 30 years. To­gether they en­joyed fish­ing, camp­ing, and eat­ing crabs. She was a lov­ing mother and grand­mother. She en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily and shop­ping any time she could. She was a breast can­cer sur­vivor and was a fighter to the very end.

Mar­garet is sur­vived by her son, Ge­orge Hen­der­son and fi­ancé, Ni­c­hole Fo­raker, of Ox­ford, PA; daugh­ters, Maria Gonce and hus­band, Jeff, of Perryville, MD; Tonya Bau­guess of Elk­ton, MD; sis­ter, Carolyn Cox and late hus­band, Jack, of Havre de Grace, MD; brothers, Gor­don “Steve” Sul­li­van and wife, Nancy, of Manch­ester, MD; Gene Sul­li­van of Louisiana; grand­daugh­ter that she raised and loved like her own, Chrissy Hen­der­son, along with 17 other grand­chil­dren; 34 great grand­chil­dren and two on the way. She loved ev­ery sin­gle one.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, Mar­garet was pre­ceded in death by her lov­ing hus­band, Wil­liam Rakes; sons, Larry Hen­der­son, Robert Hen­der­son; sis­ter, Cather­ine; brother, Bobby Sul­li­van; and grand­son, Michael Collins. .

Fu­neral ser­vices are sched­uled for Tues­day, Au­gust 30, 2016, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Pat­ter­son & Son Fu­neral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Vis­i­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends will be held Mon­day, Au­gust 29, 2016, 7 PM un­til 9 PM, at the fu­neral home. Pas­tor Bo VanDyke of Christ the King Church of Havre de Grace, MD. In­ter­ment will be in As­bury Ceme­tery, Port De­posit, MD.
