Linda Rat­zlaff, 87, passed peace­fully in her home on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 24, 2016. She leaves be­hind her hus­band of 60 years, Ron­ald Rat­zlaff, and four chil­dren: Steven Rat­zlaff, Glo­ria Smith, Don­ald Rat­zlaff and Irene Turner. Linda was a lov­ing grand­mother to 19 and great-grand­mother to more than 20 chil­dren. All who re­side in Utah with the ex­cep­tion of Don­ald Rat­zlaff, of Havre de Grace, MD, son, and Ni­cole Ramey, of North East, MD, granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will al­ways love and miss you! St. Mary’s County, Md. At the time of her death, Mrs. Thomp­son lived in The Manor House in Seaford. She was a mother of three, an avid golfer, and en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily, church, paint­ing, and trav­el­ing.

Sur­vivors in­clude two sons, Fred W. Thomp­son, Jr. of Leonard­town, Md., and Mark C. Thomp­son of Alexan­dria, Va.; a daugh­ter, Karen T. Her­ring and hus­band, David C. Her­ring, of Hur­lock, Md.; four grand­chil­dren, Kather­ine and An­drew Thomp­son, and Anna and Al­li­son Her­ring; and a sis­ter, Ruth Rogers of Ephrata, Pa.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m., Fri­day, Septem­ber 9, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 25550 Point Look­out Road, Leonard­town, Md. Inurn­ment will be later in Ar­ling­ton Na­tional Ceme­tery next to her hus­band.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the Nanticoke River Arts Coun­cil, in care of Hicks Home for Fu­ner­als, 103 W. Stock­ton Street, Elk­ton, MD 21921.
