Sa­man­tha Lee Sim­pers


Sa­man­tha Lee Sim­pers, 26, of New Providence, PA, went to be with the Lord on Septem­ber 3, 2016, af­ter a drug over­dose. She was born on Nov. 25, 1989 in Ne­wark , DE, to Don­ald L. Sim­pers and Jac­que­lyn M. (Ru­dasill) Grim­sey.

Sa­man­tha was a vi­brant and out­go­ing per­son who loved peo­ple and she was a great mother to her two chil­dren. She loved wait­ress­ing in var­i­ous restau­rants in the PA area. She was a 2008 grad­u­ate from Solanco High School where she later at­tended Lan­caster Cos­me­tol­ogy School for Mas­sage. Sa­man­tha en­joyed writ­ing po­ems, and had a pas­sion for draw­ing ab­stract de­signs to ex­press her­self.

Sa­man­tha is sur­vived by her mother, Jac­que­lyn Grim­sey and her hus­band, Paul, of New Providence, PA; fa­ther, Don­ald L. Sim­pers of Ox­ford, PA; son, Lazarus L. Roten of New Providence; daugh­ter, Lil­lianna Planin­sek of New Providence; step-brother, Christo­pher Grim­sey of Ge­orge­town, PA; ma­ter­nal grand­mother, Joan M. Ru­dasill and her com­pan­ion, Clyde Hull, of Mills­boro, DE; and pa­ter­nal grand­mother, Bar­bara Sim­pers of Ris­ing Sun, MD.

A memo­rial ser­vice to honor Sa­man­tha’s life will be held on Satur­day, Septem­ber 10, 11 a.m. at R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911. A vis­i­ta­tion will be­gin at 10 a.m. where fam­ily and friends are wel­comed to at­tend.

In lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made payable to “The Sa­man­tha Lee Sim­pers Chil­dren’s Ed­u­ca­tional Fund” and sent in care of the fu­neral home.
