Madolyn Louise Cox Harris

Madolyn Louise Cox Harris, 87, of Ris­ing Sun, MD, passed away peace­fully at her home on Satur­day, Septem­ber 3, 2016. She was born on March 21, 1929, in Colora, MD, to the late Wil­liam and Dorothy (Bell) Cox.

Madolyn was a long time em­ployee of Hen­kles and McCoy in Ris­ing Sun and also worked for Chrome Dairy. She en­joyed bowl­ing, bak­ing, cro­chet­ing and roller­skat­ing. She baked cakes for 30 years and if you live in Ris­ing Sun, you have most likely eaten one of her de­li­cious cakes. Madolyn helped teach chil­dren how to swim and loved trav­el­ing to Dis­ney World, which was one of her fa­vorite places to visit.

Madolyn is sur­vived by her chil­dren: Deb­o­rah Lam­bert, Lynn Harris, and Rox­anne Harris and her fi­ancé, Chris Farmer, all of Ris­ing Sun; grand­chil­dren: Timmy Lam­bert, Michael Harris, and CJ Farmer; one great­grand­child; sis­ter, Eve­lyn Cox White of Colora, MD; brother, Wil­liam Cox of Mi­ami, FL; and many nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her brother, Richard Cox and sis­ters: Mary Lou Mitchell and Bar­bara Carson.

A ser­vice will be held on Sun­day, Septem­ber 11, 1 p.m. at West Not­ting­ham Ceme­tery, 1195 Fire­tower Road, Colora, MD 21917.
