David R. Foraker

David R. Foraker, 79, of Bear, DE, passed away peace­fully at his home on Satur day, Septem­ber 3, 2016.

Born May 17, 1937 in Wi l m i n g - ton, DE, David was the son of the late Earl Wi n f i e l d Foraker Sr. and Mary Anna (Wil­lard) Foraker. David’s en­joyed watch­ing old Western movies and wood craft­ing but his pri­mary pas­sion was fish­ing. He loved salt­wa­ter fish­ing and spend­ing time on his boat, “Koun­try Kat,” in the Delaware Bay. David was a sim­ple man who en­joyed a good cup of cof­fee, a de­cent cig­a­rette, and a wor­thy con­ver­sa­tion with his fam­ily and friends.

David is sur­vived by his daugh­ters, Loura Jane Grove and her hus­band, Mark, of Conowingo, MD and Deb­o­rah Smith-Freso and her hus­band, Wil­liam of Bear, DE; son, James Robert Smith and his wife, Marie of Ne­wark, DE, five grand­chil­dren and two great-grand­chil­dren. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, David is pre­ceded in death by his lov­ing wife, Beatrice Mae Foraker and his three sib­lings, Earl, Charles, and Ear­leen.

Ser­vices in David’s honor will be held at 12 Noon on Satur­day, Septem­ber 17 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elk­ton, MD 21921, where friends and fam­ily may visit be­gin­ning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions may be made payable to the: “State of Delaware Divi­sion of Fish and Wildlife” with memo “Take A Kid Fish­ing” and send in care of the funeral home.
