Per­ryville rec­og­nizes town po­lice of­fi­cers

— One new of­fi­cer was sworn in and two oth­ers were given com­men­da­tions at a re­cent town meeting.

Mayor Jim Eber­hardt ad­min­is­tered the oath of of­fice to Austin Gut­bridge, mak­ing him the 12th uni­formed mem­ber of the Per­ryville Po­lice Depart­ment. He took the oath ac­com­pa­nied by his wife, Lind­sey. Gut­bridge comes to the lo­cal force af­ter serv­ing in both Bal­ti­more

Mean­while, Chief Allen Miller gave mer­i­to­ri­ous unit com­men­da­tions to de­tec­tives Dale Hoffman and Jerry Warner. Miller ex­plained that the pair have an ar­rest record higher than the na­tional av­er­age.

“They work at it un­til it’s done,” Miller said. “They solve the case the ma­jor­ity of the time. They’re good at what they do.”

Both men were also given rib­bons to wear on their uni­forms to sig­nify the com­men­da­tion.
