Michael Joseph Byrd, age 60, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Satur­day, Septem­ber 10, 2016. Born in Elkton on June 27, 1956, he was the son of the late James D. and Daisy Wilmer Byrd.

Mr. Byrd is sur­vived by his broth­ers, Rod­ney Wilmer, Robert Byrd, both of Elkton, MD, and James Byrd, Ne­wark, DE.

Funeral ser­vice in­ter­ment will be pri­vate.

Carol was a mem­ber of the Cal­vary Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church of Ris­ing Sun, MD, and for­merly em­ployed for 27 years by the Conowingo Post Of­fice, Conowingo, MD.

Carol is sur­vived by her hus­band, Rex Alan Funk of Port De­posit; son, Jeremy Matthew Funk of Ris­ing Sun, MD; daugh­ter, Jodi Marie Fin­ney and hus­band, Charles, of Port De­posit; five grand­chil­dren: Con­nor, Collin, Carter and Caylee Fin­ney, and Syd­ney Funk; one brother, Denny Wig­gins and wife, Ber­nice.

Funeral ser­vices are sched­uled for Fri­day, Septem­ber 16, 11 a.m. at the Cal­vary Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church of Ris­ing Sun, MD. Visi­ta­tions for fam­ily and friends will be held Thurs­day, Septem­ber 15, 6 p.m. un­til 8 p.m. at the church, and a sec­ond vis­i­ta­tion will be held Fri­day, Septem­ber 16, 10 a.m. un­til 11 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral ser­vice. Pas­tor Charles Fin­ney of Cal­vary Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church of Ris­ing Sun will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will be in Cal­vary Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery, Ris­ing Sun, MD.

Mary Anne was a funlov­ing and gen­er­ous per­son and she loved her fam­ily and friends dearly. She en­joyed spend­ing time with her grand­chil­dren and they were the joy of her life. She will be deeply missed by her fam­ily and friends, and all who knew her.
