Don­ald Vic­tor John­son Jr., 56, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Satur­day, Septem­ber 10, 2016, af­ter a dif­fi­cult bout with cancer at Sea­son’s Hospice in Ne­wark, DE. He was born June 25, 1960 in Phoenixville, PA, to the late Don­ald Vic­tor and Ann (Snyder) John­son.

Don at­tended Sal­is­bury State Col­lege and grad­u­ated with a de­gree in Lib­eral Stud­ies in 1982. Af­ter grad­u­a­tion, Don ran his own com­pany in­volved in var­i­ous car­pen­try re­lated projects. A skilled crafts­man, he could build any­thing that could be imag­ined out of wood. He loved the out­doors, and en­joyed hik­ing, bik­ing, swim­ming, horse­back rid­ing, crab­bing, ten­nis and any­thing else that kept him out­side. He spent many years on his par­ents’ horse farm and loved farm­ing. Don had many pos­i­tive qual­i­ties but was best known for his in­cred­i­ble gen­eros­ity and sense of hu­mor, which will be missed by all.

Don is sur­vived by his sis­ter, Amy John­son Carter Peters, of Den­ver, CO; his nieces, Sarah Beth, Melissa Ann, and Au­drey Carter, also of Den­ver, CO; his aunts, Gerry Young of West Ch­ester, PA, Emily Martin of Wood­bridge, VA, and Lois Wil­liams of Elkton, MD; and his un­cles Kenny Snyder of New Hol­land, PA, and Stephan Snyder of Down­ing­town, PA.

A Me­mo­rial Ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 15 at Moores Chapel United Methodist Church, 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
