Betty J. Camp­bell, 77, of Ris­ing Sun, MD, passed away peace­fully sur­rounded by her fam­ily on Septem­ber 11, 2016. Born on Jan. 4, 1939 in Wash­ing­ton, DC, she was the daugh­ter of the late William Henry and Bran­ton (Clark) Crigler.

Betty helped start the day­care at the Church of the Nazarene with her good friend, Mrs. Moore. She worked at the day­care for many years car­ing for the many chil­dren that came through the doors. In her spare time, Betty greatly en­joyed craft­ing, es­pe­cially cro­chet­ing and sewing.

Betty is sur­vived by her sons: Daniel T. Camp­bell and his com­pan­ion, Sa­man­tha Durr, of Not­ting­ham, PA, and John P. Camp­bell and his com­pan­ion, Sandy Slay­man, of Colora, MD; daugh­ter, Pa­tri­cia Guns and her hus­band, Tom, of Ris­ing Sun; brother, William Henry Crigler Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Ris­ing Sun; grand­chil­dren: Krysta Guns, Dawn Phipps, and Bryan Slay­man; as well as five great-grand­chil­dren. In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Betty is pre­ceded in death by her lov­ing hus­band, Arthur T. Camp­bell; sis­ter, Inez Groux; and her grand­son, Michael Slay­man.

Ser­vices in Betty’s honor will be held at 11 a.m. on Satur­day, Septem­ber 17 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911, where friends and fam­ily may visit be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. Burial will fol­low at Brookview Ceme­tery.
