Gunmen rob two county stores

— A gunman wearing a “costume beard” robbed a convenience store near Elkton early Tuesday morning, some 52 hours after an armed robbery occurred at a shop in North East, police reported.
The most recent holdup took place at the Wawa in the 1600 block of Elkton Road ( Route 279) about 12: 45 a. m. Tuesday, when a man walked into the business, brandished a handgun and then demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk, according to the Maryland State Police.
After the employee handed him an undisclosed sum of cash, the bandit fled from the store on foot, police added.
In addition to wearing a fake black beard, the robber was clad in a plaid shirt, dark pants and a gray cap, according to police. The suspect is described as being a white man in his late teens to mid- 20s, police reported.
The first armed robbery occurred about 8: 20 p. m. Sunday at the Stop- N- Go store in the unit block
