— Investigators raided a town residence early Wednesday morning and arrested a man who allegedly had been distributing child pornography on the internet, according to the Maryland State Police.
The suspect, Joseph Deshon, 42, of the unit block of Mallory Way, remained in the Cecil County Detention Center in lieu of $ 400,000 bond early Wednesday night, police reported.
Deshon is charged with two counts each of possession of child pornography and two counts of distribution of child pornography, police added.
Earlier this year, Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators had developed information about potential child pornography distribution over the internet, according to MSP cials.
T h e task force launched an investigation in which detectives identified Deshon as a suspect, police said.
That, in turn, led to MSP Computer Crimes Unit investigators, troopers assigned to the North East Barrack and Homeland Security agents conducting a court-approved search at Deshon’s residence shortly offi- before 5 a.m. Wednesday, police added.
Searchers confiscated “various digital media storage devices,” which have been submitted to the MSP Digital Forensics Lab for analysis, according to police officials, who also reported that Deshon was arrested without incident during the pre-dawn raid.
The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state, police said, explaining that its “primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation.”
