Sea­hawks men’s soc­cer notches first win in over two years

Ce­cil Col­lege de­feated vis­it­ing Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege 5-1 in Mary­land JUCO men’s soc­cer ac­tion Tues­day, record­ing their first win in more than two sea­sons.

Shadrach Ekeh (West Not­ting­ham Acad­emy) led Ce­cil with three goals and Lo­gan Holt­man (Ris­ing Sun) and Gabriel Gon­za­lous each scored once, for the Sea­hawks (1-4-1 over­all, 1-4 con­fer­ence), who re­ceived two as­sists from Vic­tor Surya and eight saves from goal­keeper Brad Alexander (Ris­ing Sun).

UCBAC Girls’ Soc­cer North East 2, Per­ryville 1

Rose Ben­jamin and Jada Ful­ton (as­sist) both scored and Caro­line Roberts added an as­sist for the In­di­ans (22), who re­ceived seven saves from De­laney McDilda.

The Pan­thers fall to 1-3 over­all.

UCBAC Volleyball North East 3, Pat­ter­son Mill 2

The In­di­ans won by set scores of 18-25, 25-10, 15-25, 25-20 and 16-14.

Anna Gam­ble led North East (2-3 over­all, 1-3 Ch­e­sa­peake) with 15 kills, three blocks and three digs, Paige Sch­midt had 32 as­sists, two kills and a dig and Loren Deaver recorded 20 digs and an ace, while Morgan Mock added 10 kills, nine digs and three ser­vice aces.

The Huskies fall to 1-3 over­all and 1-2 in the up­per divi­sion.

Bo­hemia Manor 3, Havre de Grace 1

The Ea­gles im­prove to 4-1 over­all and 4-0 in the Susque­hanna.

The War­riors fall to 2-2 over­all and in the lower divi­sion.

UCBAC Golf Aberdeen 202, North Har­ford 214, North East 255

Zach Lockard shot a 44 and Nick Col­man and Kasey Bar­row both had 49s for the In­di­ans, who re­ceived a 56 from Josh Cho­plinksy and a 57 from Abby Pinker­ton.

Pat­ter­son Mill 221, Per­ryville 223

Jor­dyn Pol­litt medaled with a 38 and Justin El­dreth added a 42 for the Pan­thers, who re­ceived a 46 from both Jake El­dreth and Matthew O’Neill and a 51 from Matt Man­none.

Pri­vate School Volleyball Tri-State Chris­tian 3, DSD 0

Caro­line Ford had five kills, Merissa Price had four kills and Tori Thompson added three kills, while Olivia Boas to­taled seven as­sists and one dig and Madi­son Bur­rows notched six helpers, one kill and one dig for the Cru­saders, who won by set scores of 25-14, 25-9 and 25-18.

Aubree Smith recorded two kills and two digs in the vic­tory.


UCBAC Boys’ Soc­cer Ris­ing Sun 4, Bo­hemia Manor 1

Martin Fer­nan­dez led the Tigers with two goals and an as­sist, Ja­son Kelch recorded a goal and an as­sist and Gar­rett Wil­son scored once, while Braden Thomas added an as­sist for the Tigers (3-3), who re­ceived five saves in goal from Christo­pher Orr.

Rob­bie Mes­sick scored the lone goal for the Ea­gles (22), who had five saves from Matt Lynn.

UCBAC Field Hockey Elk­ton 8, Havre de Grace 0

Erin DePaul scored four goals and Vanessa Dunn scored three times and added three as­sists, while Ni­cole Baldino also found the back of the cage for the Golden Elks (5-0 over­all, 2-0 Susque­hanna), who had two as­sists each from Mad­die Rzu­cidlo and Brook­lyn Rau.

Pat­ter­son Mill 5, Ris­ing Sun 0

The Tigers fall to 2-2 over­all and 0-1 in the Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion.

Molly Egan scored twice and Ju­lia Frankis, Elise Alders and Syn­dey Beck all scored once for the Huskies (1-4 over­all, 1-0 divi­sion). North Har­ford 1, Per­ryville 0

Made­line Wilkin­son had 22 saves for the Pan­thers (3-2 over­all, 0-1 Ch­e­sa­peake).

Ariel Lim­pert scored the lone goal for the Hawks (3-0, 1-0). UCBAC Volleyball Elk­ton 3, Edge­wood 2

The Golden Elks (1-4 over­all, 1-3 Susque­hanna) won by set scores of 25-19, 19-25, 2516, 16-25 and 15-8.

The Rams fall to 3-2 over­all and 2-2 in the lower divi­sion.
