Robert Wil­liam Sny­der, Sr., age 85, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 22, 2016. Born in Philadel­phia, PA, on March 30, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Ruby Munn Sny­der.

A U.S. Air Force vet­eran of the Korean War, Mr. Sny­der retired as an aero­space en­gi­neer from Thiokol Cor­po­ra­tion, Elk­ton, af­ter 39 years of ser­vice. He loved spend­ing time with his fam­ily, es­pe­cially his chil­dren and grand­chil­dren. Mr. Sny­der was a past mem­ber of the Freema­sons and Amer­i­can Le­gion Ce­cil Post #15, Elk­ton. An avid sports fan, he en­joyed read­ing, play­ing golf and word puzzles.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife of 62 years, Mitzie Pow­ell Sny­der; chil­dren, Brad Sny­der and wife, Linda, Port De­posit, MD, and Beth Sny­der Roten­berry and hus­band, Craig, Ne­wark, DE; grand­chil­dren, Rachael, Craig and Sarah; step-grand­chil­dren, Paul, Chuck and Jackie; sis­ter, Eve Glantz, Port Lud­low, WA; nieces, Denise and Dar­lene; and nephew, Dale.
