County SDA churches to host biblical seminar
— Cecil County’s three Seventh Day Adventist churches will be participating in a free nationwide program aimed at helping people understand the Bible.
“Revelation Speaks Peace” begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Providence Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 3085 Singerly Road in Elkton; Rising Sun Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 402 N. Walnut St. in Rising Sun; and Blythedale Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 36 Blythedale Road in Perryville. Each session will last 75 minutes. Childcare for ages 3 to 11 is also available at each church.
“The kids will participate in activities, crafts, music and lessons,” said The Rev. Rick Christman, pastor of Providence SDA Church.
Meanwhile the adults will dig deep into the scriptures with a teacher at each location. Christman said more than 60 churches are offering the program in the region. He said the seminar will be useful to anyone re- gardless of affiliation or experience in Bible study.
“Whether they’ve been a Bible student their whole life or just want to learn more, you’ll learn how to navigate the Bible and gain practical application,” he said.
All materials are provided at the seminar including a Bible and study notes. Christman said those who pre-register will also receive a DVD called “The Daniel Chronicles.”
To register for the seminars, go to http:// www.revelationspeakspeace2016.com/ and visit the locations tab to connect with Providence, Rising Sun or Blythedale. Those without a computer can call 1-844-668-2000.
Over the three-week seminar, students will learn about the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation and the end time events referred to in Matthew.
“God’s not wanting to scare people,” Christman said. “There’s a blessing and promises. God wants to reveal His love and assurances to His people. He wants people to know that Jesus is going to be with you at all times. This is an encouragement.”
