Jeff Kappus, owner of the restaurant located in the Perryville Station Shopping Center, said he chose the Havre de Grace customers, where he also owns and operates a Subway.

“People were coming across the bridge. They have said to me we need one

Commissioner Alan Fox, representing the town of Perryville, welcomed the new business, which he said had national brand recognition.

“Any business that comes to Perryville and puts down roots is going to do well,” Fox said.

Jake Porter, general manager, acknowledged the town also has a Subway at Route 222 near the Interstate 95 interchange.

“But it doesn’t have the convenience we have for families,” Porter said.

Already the staff noticed they get traffic at their Route 40 location from schools, Perry Point VA Medical Center and folks on the road taking their children to after-school activities. The restaurant also offers plenty of dining space.

Kappus said the store added more than a dozen jobs to the area as well.

Bonnie Grady, president and CEO of the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce, said the county is finally being recognized as a prime location for business and industry. we’ve ever been. Look at the big construction project happening up the road,” Grady said, referring to construction of the Lidl grocery distribution facility at the Principio Business Park. “Things are happening in Cecil County.”

Grady said Cecil County is “strategically placed between Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia and Boston and Richmond, Va.”

“Businesses are finding out we’re the only green space in a major growth corridor,” Grady said.
