Thumbs down

Cecil Whig - - OPINION -

To the closure of Perryville Outlet Center. After dwindling down to only a handful of shops, the shopping center officially closed Saturday. The owner is reportedly in talks with a potential buyer of the property. Meanwhile, the town of Perryville is in the process of updating its list of enterprise zone properties to include the property, which is zoned highway commercial. Once approved, any developer who uses the site for such uses as light industrial, warehouses, distribution or manufacturing could get property tax benefits from both the town and Cecil County. Here’s hoping the owner can find a buyer who will revitalize the site and bring much-needed jobs to the county.
