Take your teddy to work (or school) No catch here. Be­cause it’s the sec­ond Wed­nes­day of Oc­to­ber, the 12th is Na­tional Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work/ School Day.

Hal­loween cel­e­bra­tions Now that we’re in Oc­to­ber, Hal­loween is of­fi­cially fair game. On Fri­day, from 5 to 7 p.m. Per­ryville will host its an­nual party to cel­e­brate this spook­i­est of hol­i­days. It’s all go­ing down at the old Rodgers Tav­ern, 259 Broad Street.

It’s slated as a fam­ily event, with a long list of ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing a cos­tume con­test, pump­kin patch, moon bounce, straw maze, mu­sic and more. There will also be kids games, ven­dors and light re­fresh­ments.

this week­end — there’s a few If you haven’t no­ticed, the air has be­come colder, the clothes heav­ier, the days shorter. Fall is upon us. Weather per­mit­ting, this week­end will fea­ture a num­ber of sea­son-ap­pro­pri­ate events.

There’s the ap­ple but­ter mak­ing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Satur­day at the Fair Hill Race Track; the first-ever Hack’s Point Fire Co. Oktoberfest start­ing at 2 p.m. on Satur­day; and the fall fest at Gif­ford’s Farm in Ris­ing Sun from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sun­day.
