Robbers hit Conowingo store, remain on loose
— A man and woman remained on the loose Wednesday morning after robbing a convenience
store a day earlier, police reported.
The strong-arm robbery occurred at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday at the Pantry I FoodMart at 1897 Conowingo Road, according to Lt. Michael Holmes, a Cecil County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Investigators have posted a store surveillance video of the robbery on the agency’s Facebook page and are asking for the public’s help identifying the two bandits, who were last seen running from the store.
Anyone with information that might help investigators is asked to call CCSO Det. Tyler Price at 410-3922124 or email him at tyler. firstname.lastname@example.org. Tipsters also can private message the agency’s Facebook page, using #cecilcounty #idthesuspects#cecilsheriff, and it will be forwarded to the detective.
The video shows the fe- male suspect standing in front of the checkout counter and an employee on the other side, apparently in the middle of a transaction. Then it shows the male suspect charge behind the counter and grab something, as the clerk screams. It ends with the suspects fleeing.
“We believe they were working together. The female suspect made a purchase and then, at that point, the male suspect came in and took the cash register,” Holmes said, explaining that purchase served as a distraction and as an innocuous means to have the employee open the cash register.
The female suspect is described as white, with black hair and she was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants, police said. The male suspect was wearing a white or gray hooded sweatshirt and camouflage shorts over black pants, police added.
