Rising Sun chamber to host health fair Friday
— Those who get their exercise hunting for Pokemon will be busy at the 10th Annual Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce Health Fair Friday at Grace Bible Chapel.
“We’ll have special lures,” said Dr. Joseph Weidner, organizer of this year’s fair. “We’ll have a new lure every half hour.”
The Health Fair, at the church at 1949 Biggs Highway, runs from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Weidner said this year would be “a real packed house.”
“We have 54 vendors and a wide array of resources,” Weidner said Tuesday. “That’s as full as it can get.”
Free health screenings include bone density, oral cancer, vision, pulmonary function and blood glucose.
Demonstrations include Rising Sun Martial Arts, The Hoppin’ Hawks competitive jump roping, Barnes Corner Fitness and Rebel Dance Fitness from Strength in Numbers Innovations.
Safetyville, a program that teaches traffic safety to youngsters, will also be set up by the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.
Also available for $25 will be flu and pneumonia vaccines. Bring your insurance card.
Weidner said attendees should expect to go home with lots of giveaways and valuable information.
The Rising Sun Health Fair will bring together a host of medical, health and fitness experts to offer free information, screenings and advice.
