Tollinger, Eagles win Ce­cil County In­vite

Se­nior Hunter Tollinger earned medal­ist honors and the Bo­hemia Manor golf team emerged vic­to­ri­ous at the Ce­cil County In­vi­ta­tional Tues­day at Fur­nace Bay Golf Course in Per­ryville.

Tollinger fired a 77 and his team­mate Will Smethurst shot a 78 as the duo posted the top two scores of any golfer on Tues­day. Ja­cob Cotero (85), Stephen Le­merand (90) and Jeremy Net­tles and Hay­den Han­char­ick (95) rounded out the scor­ing for the Eagles, who ended the day with a team score of 520.

“Win­ning the county cham­pi­onship is a great way to fin­ish a great golf season. I am ex­tremely proud of how every kid on the team played today,” Eagles coach Kevin Le­merand said. “I can’t say enough about the per­for­mance of Hunter and Will, hav­ing two scores in the 70s is just out­stand­ing.”

The Pan­thers placed se­cond with a team score of 567, while North East (599) ended third, Ris­ing Sun (624) took fourth and Elkton (664) fin­ished in fifth.

Elkton se­nior Ge­n­e­sis Diaz carded a 79 to earn fe­male medal­ist honors.

Hanna Clark recorded a hat trick and Katie O’Hare, Brooke Walz and Maken­zie Stal­lone all scored once for the Eagles (7-3-1 over­all, 3-1-1 Susque­hanna), who re­ceived one as­sist each from Bai­ley Pressler, Kirstin Walz and Hai­ley Hus­felt.

The War­riors fall to 1-9 over­all and 0-4 in the lower di­vi­sion.
