Nellie O. Gray
Nellie O. Gray, 90 years young of Perryville, MD, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
Born in Norfolk, VA, on October 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Oresa (Owens) Mercer. In 1943 she met and married Rev. Edward G. Gray, Jr. They were married 67 wonderful years prior to his passing on August 28, 2010.
Mrs. Gray served as Librarian for Cecil County Public Library until her retirement.
She was an avid reader, wonderful gardener and fabulous cook. A strong supporter of her husband’s ministry, Mrs. Gray never met a stranger. She was a friend to all, showing a true love of everyone around her but also sharing with them her great sense of humor. She was the epitome of Grace and Beauty.
Survivors include her children: Connie Orser of New Brunswick, Canada, Sandra Price of Barrington, NH, Edward Gray III of North East, MD, Wayne Gray of PA, the late Phillip Gray and Resa Laird of North East, MD; a brother: Robert Mercer of Burlington, NC and sister: Nancy Hadad of York, ME. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 greatgreat grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother: Lewis Mercer and her sister: Barbara Mercer.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. David Price will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.
Interment will follow services in Principio Cemetery, Perryville, MD.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 26, 2016, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.

In addition to his father, Chris was preceded in death by his daughter, Layla Elise Pyle. He is survived by his mother, Carol D. Pyle of Newark, DE; children, Aiden, Bianca and Elise Pyle, and their mother, Maple Soukup, all of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Wendy L. Johnson of Elkton and Dawn Pyle of Newark; and nieces, Alison and Kristen Johnson.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon on Thursday, October 27 at the White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will be private.
