Wil­liam R. Pyle, 73, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away trag­i­cally along with his son, Christo­pher R. Pyle, at the fam­ily’s home as a re­sult of a house fire which oc­curred on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 17, 2016.

Born and raised in Wilm­ing­ton, DE, Ronny was the son of the late Ed­ward Madi­son Pyle and Ethel M. (Buck­ing­ham) Pyle. A skilled gen­eral con­trac­tor who spe­cial­ized in res­i­den­tial ad­di­tions, he was known for his strong work ethic and his abil­ity to cre­ate and build any­thing.

Ronny was a past mem­ber of the Chris­tiana Vol­un­teer Fire Co. He was an avid hunter and en­joyed play­ing soft­ball. Above all else, he will be re­mem­bered as a de­voted fa­ther and grand­fa­ther, who was al­ways present for his loved ones.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by three broth­ers and one sis­ter; and a grand­daugh­ter, Layla Elise Pyle. He is sur­vived by his daugh­ters, Wendy L. John­son of Elk­ton and Dawn Pyle of Ne­wark; grand­chil­dren, Ali­son and Kris­ten John­son and Ai­den, Bianca and Elise Pyle; and sib­lings, Lois Yoder, Richard Pyle, Robert Ken­neth Pyle and Har­vey Bruce Pyle, all of Ne­wark, DE.

A vis­i­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends will be held from 10 a.m. un­til 12 Noon on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 27 at the White Clay Creek Pres­by­te­rian Church, 15 Polly Drum­mond Hill Road, Ne­wark, DE, where a me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held at 12 Noon. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
