Tigers foot­ball falls short on emo­tional night

Ris­ing Sun scored three rush­ing touch­downs and threw for an­other but it wasn’t enough in a 45-26 loss to vis­it­ing Pat­ter­son Mill in Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion foot­ball ac­tion on Thurs­day.

Jesse Her­rera (eight rushes, 35 yards), Cole Stafford (eight rushes, 59 yards) and Mau­rice McCargo (five rushes, 28 yards) all found the end zone on the ground for the Tigers (2-6 over­all, 2-3 di­vi­sion).

Quar­ter­back Nate McCullough com­pleted 11 of 22 passes for 152 yards, in­clud­ing a 2-yard touch­down throw to Dustin Flow­ers (six catches, 59 yards) for Ris­ing Sun.

Pat­ter­son Mill (2-6, 2-3) played for the first time since the sud­den death of Huskies se­nior line­man Is­sac Pfarr. Pat­ter­son Mill hon­ored him by only tak­ing the field with 10 play­ers for its open­ing pos­ses­sion on of­fense.

C.M. Wright 30, No. 2 Aberdeen 27

The Mus­tangs im­prove to 4-4 over­all and 2-2 in the Ch­e­sa­peake Di­vi­sion.

The Ea­gles fall to 4-4 over­all and 3-2 in the up­per di­vi­sion. No. 3 Bel Air 29, No. 5 North Harford 14

Daniel Web­ber ran for a pair of touch­downs, Zach Pow­ell also found the end zone on the ground and Devin An­der­son rushed for a score for the Bob­cats ( 7- 1 over­all, 3- 1 Ch­e­sa­peake).

J. T. Kidd pro­duced a rush­ing touch­down and quar­ter­back Dave Har­mon con­nected with Ben Sex­ton for a score for the Hawks ( 5- 3, 2- 2), who were tied 8- 8 at half­time.

Edge­wood 27, Fall­ston 21

AJ Barmer and Cameron York both caught touch­down passes from Mar­quez Kim­brough and Deonte Banks had a 35yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn for a touch­down for the Rams ( 4- 4 over­all, 1- 4 Ch­e­sa­peake), who re­ceived a 70- yard punt re­turn for a score from Derek Delilly.

The Cougars ( 3- 5, 1- 4) led 14- 13 at half­time.

Harford Tech 21, Jop­pa­towne 20

The Co­bras im­prove to 4- 4 over­all and 2- 3 in the Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion. The Mariners fall to 3- 5 over­all and 3- 2 in the lower di­vi­sion.

UCBAC Girls’ Soc­cer Bo­hemia Manor 10, Jop­pa­towne 1

Hanna Clarke and Erin Horsey both recorded hat tricks, Lexi Cook (two as­sists) had two goals and Emily Park and JoEllen Gar­son also found the net for the Ea­gles, who re­ceived two as­sists each from Hai­ley Hus­felt and Maken­zie Stal­lone.

North East 1, Aberdeen 0

Rose Ben­jamin scored off an as­sist from Caro­line Roberts, while Delaney McDilda made five saves for the In­di­ans.

Cas­sidy Boyd scored off an as­sist from Jackie Ay­ers for the Tigers.

UCBAC Vol­ley­ball Perryville 3, Harford Tech 0

The Pan­thers won by set scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-20.

Brooke Reynolds led Perryville with 15 ser­vice points, four aces and 11 digs, Gabby Good­now recorded eight kills, four blocks and five digs and Rose Porch de­liv­ered 15 as­sists and eight digs, while Hai­ley Jones added 15 digs.

Ris­ing Sun 3, Pat­ter­son Mill 0

The Tigers won in straight sets by scores of 25-4, 25-6 and 27-25.

Bre­anne Ha­ley led Ris­ing Sun with 11 kills, two digs and a block and Lacey Swartout recorded seven kills and eight aces, while Sarah Wil­liams dis­trib­uted 17 as­sists.

Pri­vate School Vol­ley­ball MIL Cham­pi­onship Con­so­la­tion

Caro­line Ford had six kills and one dig and Sarah Polud­niak (three digs), Tori Thomp­son and Merissa Price all had five kills for the Cru­saders, while Madi­son Bur­rows (10 as­sists, one dig), Olivia Boas (seven as­sists, one dig) and Aubree Smith (one dig) all had one kill.

Both Ford and Polud­niak were named to the MIL All-Tour­na­ment team.
