Ira Clyde Hol­brook, Sr., 83 of Elk Mills, MD, passed away Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 27, 2016 in the Sea­sons Hospice & Pa l l i a t i v e Care,e, Ne­wark, DE.

Born in NC, on Au­gust 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Johnny C. and Flossie (Casey) Hol­brook.

Prior to his re­tire­ment, Mr. Hol­brook worked as a spray painter, 6 years at Gen­eral Mo­tors and 34 years for Chrysler As­sem­bly in Ne­wark, Delaware.

He en­joyed watch­ing NASCAR, es­pe­cially his fa­vorite driver, Mark Martin. He also en­joyed lis­ten­ing to blue­grass mu­sic, work­ing on cars, wrestling and his fre­quent trips to see ev­ery­one at the McDon­ald’s on Belle Hill Road. Clyde Hol­brook spent a life­time be­ing a mas­ter me­chanic and help­ing oth­ers with his tal­ents. Most of all, he loved his fam­ily and en­joyed his grand­chil­dren and great grand­chil­dren. Prior to his ill­ness, he helped with the food mis­sions at Bald­win UMC for many years.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife of 59 years: Shirley Hol­brook; their chil­dren: Bon­nie Sue Na­gle of Ris­ing Sun, MD, Pa­tri­cia M. Bernal (hus­band, Luis) of Elk­ton, MD, Sue Wat­son (hus­band, Stan) of Ris­ing Sun, MD, Ira C. Hol­brook, Jr. (wife, Cyndi) of North East, MD and Blenda J. Hol­brook of Elk­ton, MD; two brothers: Bobby Hol­brook of Elkin, NC., Mack Hol­brook of Colora, MD and a sis­ter: Bar­bara Sell­ers of Elkin, NC; and his 11 grand­chil­dren, 10 great grand­chil­dren, many nieces, nephews and life­long friends.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be con­ducted by Rev. Charles Ros­siter and will be held Fri­day, Novem­ber 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Crouch Fu­neral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Fam­ily and friends may visit 10:00-11:00 a.m.

In ad­di­tion to flow­ers, the fam­ily re­quests me­mo­rial do­na­tions be made to Bald­win Fire Re­cov­ery Fund in care of Crouch Fu­neral Home.

In­ter­ment will fol­low ser­vices in Rose Bank Ceme­tery, Ris­ing Sun, MD.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held Tues­day, Novem­ber 1, 2016 at 10:30 am at North East Church of the Nazarene, 133 South Main Street, North East, MD. The fam­ily will wel­come guests from 10:00 am un­til ser­vice time.

In­ter­ment with full mil­i­tary hon­ors will fol­low the ser­vice in North East Methodist Ceme­tery, North East, MD.
