Don­ald “Donny” C. Crothers, 66, of Ris­ing Sun, MD, passed away peace­fully on Novem­ber 1, 2016 surr ounded by his fam­ily. Born on April 20, 1950 in Wi l m i n g - ton, DE, he was the son of Mary Alice (Brown) Crothers and the late Al­fred Thomp­son Crothers Jr.

Donny was the owner and op­er­a­tor of a dairy farm, called Long Green Farms, in Ris­ing Sun, MD, which has been in the Crothers Fam­ily for over 250 years. He was a mem­ber of var­i­ous farm­ing and com­mu­nity or­ga­ni­za­tions. Donny had a pas­sion for farm­ing and loved fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties.

In ad­di­tion to his mother, Donny is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Linda M. Crothers; three sons: Scott Crothers of Mil­ford, DE; An­thony Crothers and his wife, Deb­bie, of Pitcher, NY; and Caleb Crothers and his wife, Alice, of Ris­ing Sun, MD; six grand­chil­dren: Blake, Kennedy, Cam­ryn, Maci, Sar­a­lyon and Hen­ley Crothers; brother, Al­fred T. Crothers III and his wife, Joy, of Quar­ryville, MD; and sis­ter, Kathy Knut­sen and her hus­band, War­ren, of Ris­ing Sun, MD.

A vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tues­day, Novem­ber 8 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911. Ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 9 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1072 Ebenezer Church Road, Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911, with a vis­i­ta­tion be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. Burial will fol­low at Rose­bank Ceme­tery.

In lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made payable to “Ebenezer United Methodist Church” or “Amedisys Foun­da­tion” and sent in care of the funeral home.
