James “Jim” Harvey
James “Jim” Harvey, 85, of Elkton, MD, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016. Born in Elkton on October 31, 1931, he was the son of the late Hugh and Charlene Long Harvey.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Harvey had been a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 851, Elkton and his hobbies were trains and antique John Deere tractors.
Survivors include his son, James B. “Jamie” Harvey; stepchildren, Cindy Sinclair, Jeff Snyder and Gary Snyder and siblings, Dave Harvey, Maiden, NC, Nancy Lewis, Pulaski, WI, Betty “Betts” Garrett, Elkton, MD and Charlene Friend, Forest Hill, MD.
In addition to his parents Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Harvey, and siblings, Hugh “Budge” Harvey II, John “Doc” Harvey, Charles “Dick” Harvey, Mike Harvey, Ken Harvey, Lydia “Rick” Askins, Joann “Jan” Neal and Mary Lou Garrett.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Private interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.

Allen is survived by his wife of four years, Joan Louise Penhollow; his sons, Ronald A. Penhollow (Brenda), and Jonathan N. Penhollow (Terah); his daughter, Charlotte M. Penhollow Ritchie (Gregory); his sister, Judith Ann Guy (Clifford); and five grandchildren: Brenden Penhollow, Seth Penhollow, Landon Ritchie, Logan Penhollow and Jayna Ritchie. Allen was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Penhollow, and his brother, James Penhollow.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, November 8 from 6-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. at Bible Fellowship Church of Newark, DE. A service in celebration of Allen’s life will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Rock Run Cemetery, Havre De Grace, MD.
