B.J. McCraw VanDenHeu­vel, age 67, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away on Tues­day, Novem­ber 8, 2016. Born in Elk­ton on Septem­ber 5, 1949, she was the daugh­ter of Joan Rit­ter McCraw, Crys­tal River, FL, and the late Roy J. McCraw.

Mrs. VanDenHeu­vel re­tired from the Ce­cil County Public Schools as a teacher’s aide at Holly Hall Ele­men­tary School. She was a mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of Elk­ton. Mrs. VanDenHeu­vel loved chil­dren, babysit­ting, trav­el­ing and singing.

In ad­di­tion to her mother, sur­vivors in­clude her son, John VanDenHeu­vel and wife, Amanda, Elk­ton, MD; sis­ters, Jane Crouse, Judy Lef­few, and Glo­ria Cox; and 4 grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her fa­ther, Mrs. VanDenHeu­vel was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of 36 years, Martin R. VanDenHeu­vel.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m., Tues­day, Novem­ber 15, 2016, at First Bap­tist Church of Elk­ton, 607 Delaware Av­enue, Elk­ton, MD, with vis­i­ta­tion be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. In­ter­ment will be in Union Ceme­tery.
