McKinnon, of PattersonSchwartz, named Cecil Board of Realtors president
— At their 57th annual meeting, the Cecil County Board of Realtors installed Linda McKinnon, of Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate, as its 2016-2017 president.
“I am very proud to congratulate Linda on her newest role,” PattersonSchwartz sales manager Chris Cashman said. “She has an impressive history of involvement and is a true asset to the real estate community.”
Throughout her 14-year real estate career, McKinnon has served on the board as a committee member and volunteer, and later as director, secretary, vice president and former president. In addition to her years of involvement on the board, she brings significant career as well as community service
achievements to her newest role.
Licensed in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania, McKinnon is considered one of the area’s top residential sales producers and has graduate, Realtor Institute and workforce housing designations. She was named the Realtor of the Year by Cecil County Board of Realtors in 2008 and 2015, as well as the 2015 and 2016 Maryland State Realtor of the Year. Just recently, McKinnon was inducted into the National Association of Realtors Omega Tau Rho Society for her commitment to the real estate community.
McKinnon is also involved with several community organizations benefiting children and veterans and their families, and serves on the board of the West Cecil Health Center. Upon graduating from the Maryland Association of Realtors Leadership Academy in 2009, she received the prestigious W.H.C. Wilson Award which is granted to the graduate who best demonstrates integrity, a desire to lead and a high ethical standard, both professionally and through community involvement. McKinnon has also chaired the Equal Opportunity/Diversity Committee for the Maryland Association of Realtors since 2014.
McKinnon’s colleague of many years, Paul Wildey, introduced her as the new county board president at the October ceremony.
“There is an old saying that if you want something done, ask a busy person,” Wildey said. “And Linda is one of the busiest people I know.”
