in the 100 block of Inverness Drive in the Lakeside Mobile Home Park neighborhood, a short distance northwest of North East.

A Maryland State Police helicopter flew the wounded 30-year-old woman to University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore, after an ambulance took her from the shooting scene to a grassy area near the North East Station shopping center, the landing zone.

The suspect reportedly sped away in a silver Cadillac after opening fire on the woman and, as of early Thursday night, law enforcement officers were trying to locate the car and the suspect.

Working behind yellow crime scene tape at the shooting scene, MSP troopers and North East Police Department officers found at least one spent shell casing on the ground near the house while searching for evidence.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, a spokesman at MSP’s North East barrack said the agency would release official information about the shooting later Thursday night.
