Thomas D. Walm­s­ley, 92, of War­wick died Nov. 14, 2016 in the Har­ri­son Se­nior Liv­ing Home, Ge­orge­town, Del.

Mr. Walm­s­ley was born Aug. 11, 1924, son of the late Thomas D. and Lil­lie Cul­ley Walm­s­ley. He was raised in Fred­er­ick­town and was a 1941 grad­u­ate of Ge­orge Bid­dle High School in Ce­cil­ton. He was a World War II Army vet­eran serv­ing in three ma­jor cam­paigns.

Af­ter his mar­riage in 1947, he moved to War­wick, where he raised his fam­ily and be­gan his 35-year ca­reer with Chrysler. Tom was a mem­ber of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in War­wick.

Along with his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor Lock­er­man Walm­s­ley, and 15 broth­ers and sis­ters.

Mr. Walm­s­ley is sur­vived by his chil­dren: T. David Walm­s­ley (Shirley) of Swedes­boro, N.J. and Mar­i­lyn Figgs (Tom) of Mil­ton, Del.; four grand­chil­dren: A.J. Walm­s­ley (Mary), Adri­enne Derby (Chris), Ja­nine Weis­man (Matt) and Michele Davis (Wayne); and 14 great­grand­chil­dren.

Friends may call from from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Galena Fu­neral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where fu­neral ser­vices will be­gin at 1 p.m. Burial will be War­wick Ceme­tery.
