Thomas D. Walmsley
Thomas D. Walmsley, 92, of Warwick died Nov. 14, 2016 in the Harrison Senior Living Home, Georgetown, Del.
Mr. Walmsley was born Aug. 11, 1924, son of the late Thomas D. and Lillie Culley Walmsley. He was raised in Fredericktown and was a 1941 graduate of George Biddle High School in Cecilton. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in three major campaigns.
After his marriage in 1947, he moved to Warwick, where he raised his family and began his 35-year career with Chrysler. Tom was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Warwick.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor Lockerman Walmsley, and 15 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Walmsley is survived by his children: T. David Walmsley (Shirley) of Swedesboro, N.J. and Marilyn Figgs (Tom) of Milton, Del.; four grandchildren: A.J. Walmsley (Mary), Adrienne Derby (Chris), Janine Weisman (Matt) and Michele Davis (Wayne); and 14 greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call from from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be Warwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Harrison House Activities Fund, 110 West North St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
