McCarthy ad­min­is­tra­tion takes over county

— Ce­cil County Ex­ec­u­tive Alan McCarthy pledged Mon­day to lead the county with re­spect and team­work, mo­ments af­ter he took the oath of of­fice to be­come the county’s se­cond ex­ec­u­tive.

not to seek re-elec­tion af­ter be­ing elected the county’s first ex­ec­u­tive in 2012.

Ce­cil County Coun­cil mem­bers Bob Mef­fley and Jackie Gre­gory, both Repub­li­cans, were also sworn into of­fice Mon­day dur­ing an in­au­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony or­ga­nized by County Coun­cil Man­ager Jim Massey and staff.

It was the se­cond time the Up­per Ch­e­sa­peake Ball­room in North East hosted a county cel­e­bra­tion
