Peggy Ann Bolender
Peggy Ann Bolender, 80, of Elkton, MD passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016. Born in Washington, DC on October 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Mullican and Ruth Swanay Mullican Morarre.
Mrs. Bolender was a teacher with the Cecil County Board of Education, retiring after 37 years of teaching at Perryville High School. She had been a member of the National Educators Association, Cecil County Teachers Association and Maryland State Teachers Association and was a member of the Cecil County Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach, shopping, time with family and friends and antiquing as well as visits to Williamsburg, VA.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bolender was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson K. Bolender.
Survivors include her children: Brian Bolender and wife, Donna, Wilmington, DE, Sherrie Culver, Elkton, MD, Karen Adair and husband, Brian, Lincoln University, PA and Gary Bolender and wife, Tammie, Elkton, MD; 15 grandchildren ; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Kuhn, Fayetteville, AR, Sandy McCarthy and husband, Patrick, Woodbine, MD, Suzanne Dowling and husband, Tom, Georgetown, TX and Walter Mullican and wife, Meleta, Frederick, MD and sister-in-law, Martha Russell and husband, Glenn, St. Petersburg, FL.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 14 at Elkton United Methodist Church, 314 E. Main Street, Elkton with interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, December 13 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St, Elkton.
