Mary Ellen Hardesty, 82 of North East, MD, went to heaven to be with her mother, hus­band, daugh­ter and grand­daugh­ter on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 9, 2016 in the Elk­ton Tran­si­tional Care Cen­ter.

Born in Dallas, NC, on Oc­to­ber 1, 1934, she was the daugh­ter of the late Michael Theodore and Lil­lian (Alexander) Cost­ner.

She was a Seam­stress, em­ployed by Lass and As­so­ciates in North East, MD.

Mrs. Hardesty is sur­vived by her daugh­ter: Debra Ellen Upchurch (Ron­nie) of Elk­ton, MD; step­daugh­ter: Kit­ten Woody of Bal­ti­more, MD; sis­ter: Betty Bum­gar­ner of NC; grand­chil­dren: Crissy Fleet­wood, Ja­son Forino, Justin Collins, An­thony Woody and Shawn Woody; and great grand­chil­dren: Grace An­der­son, Ava An­der­son, Gabrielle Forino, Mathew Forino, Quentin Fleet­wood, Ja­cob Collins and Ron­nie Upchurch, Jr.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents she is pre­de­ceased by her hus­band: Ed­ward M. Hardesty; daugh­ter: Linda Collings and a grand­daugh­ter.

Fu­neral service will be held Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Fu­neral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. A visi­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends is one hour be­fore the service.

In­ter­ment will be in Union Ceme­tery, Elk­ton, MD
