Bri­anne Young, vol­un­teer co­or­di­na­tor, is look­ing for will­ing hands to help with con­struc­tion.

“We can have up to 20 peo­ple per day,” she said. “We work Wed­nes­day through Satur­day from 8 a. m. un­til 3 p. m.”

Vol­un­teers must be 16 or older, but no ex­pe­ri­ence is nec­es­sary.

“The site su­per­vi­sors teach all the vol­un­teers,” Young said.

If all goes ac­cord­ing to plan — and the weather co­op­er­ates — the home should be fin­ished in time for the fam­ily to spend its first Christ­mas in their new home, Bland­ford said.

“We’re mak­ing a se­ri­ous in­vest­ment in Elk­ton,” she said. “This is a won­der­ful rein­vest­ment in Ce­cil County.”
