Po­lice search for Ne­wark theft sus­pect last seen in Elk­ton

NE­WARK, DEL. — Delaware State Po­lice are seek­ing the pub­lic’s help in iden­ti­fy­ing a man who al­legedly stole a rid­ing mower val­ued at more than $ 8,000 and was last seen in the Elk­ton area.

At ap­prox­i­mately 6: 28 a. m. on Satur­day a man en­tered At­lantic Trac­tor, lo­cated at 2688 Pu­laski High­way in Ne­wark, Del., and cut the se­cu­rity cable se­cur­ing the rid­ing lawn mow­ers. The man then stole a 2017 John Deere Z930M Z- Trak zero turn rid­ing mower val­ued at $ 8500, DSP re­ported.

The sus­pect fled on French­town Road to­wards Ce­cil County. He was last seen on Maloney Road in Elk­ton trav­el­ing to­wards Pu­laski High­way ( Route 40), ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

The sus­pect, who was caught on sur­veil­lance cam­eras, is de­scribed as a white man with brown hair, ap­prox­i­mately 5- foot- 10 and weigh­ing 140 to 160 pounds, po­lice said.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors are search­ing for a sus­pect who broke into the for­mer Per­ryville Out­lets and set a fire. The prop­erty has been closed to the pub­lic since Oc­to­ber.
