North East de­feated vis­it­ing Elk­ton 2-1 in Susque­hanna Divi­sion field hockey ac­tion on Mon­day.

Abby Ri­ley as­sisted a pair of goals for the In­di­ans (5-3 over­all, 3-0 divi­sion), aid­ing on a tally by Kee­gan Carew and later dish­ing out the game-win­ner to Areyh Wil­liams. Across the field, Ericka Sch­midt made 11 saves in net and Al­li­son Leftridge added a de­fen­sive save in the vic­tory.

Vanessa Dunn scored off an as­sist from Maia Gi­afes for the Golden Elks (3-4, 0-3). Perryville 3, Har­ford Tech 0

Emma Cog­gins and Na­dia Makach both scored for the Pan­thers (4-3 over­all, 3-0 Susque­hanna).

The Co­bras fall to 3-3 over­all and 2-1 in the lower divi­sion.

Ris­ing Sun 2, Edge­wood 0

Amanda Har­alds­son scored in the game’s first minute, while Biz Hurm dou­bled the lead in the con­test’s fi­nal five sec­onds for the Tigers (5-3 over­all, 1-1 Ch­e­sa­peake).

The Rams fall to 1-8 over­all and 0-4 in the up­per divi­sion.

UCBAC Boys’ Soc­cer Edge­wood 3, Ris­ing Sun 2

Jackson Sopa led the Tigers (5-3 over­all, 4-0 Susque­hanna) with a goal and an as­sist. Matthew Chris­tian scored Ris­ing Sun’s first goal and Demetri Smith added an as­sist. Ethan Greene made three saves in the net.

Ryan Dean scored all three goals for the Rams (3-5, 2-1).

Bohemia Manor 3, Havre de Grace 2

Bran­don Teix­i­dor led the Ea­gles with two goals and Chris Bain­bridge tal­lied the other. Goalie Matt Lynn made seven saves for Bohemia Manor (3-4 over­all, 1-3 Susque­hanna).

The War­riors fall to 1-7 over­all and 1-3 in the lower divi­sion.

Har­ford Tech 3, Perryville 1

The Pan­thers fall to 3-5 over­all and 2-2 in the Susque­hanna.

The Co­bras im­prove to 5-3 on the sea­son and 3-1 in the lower divi­sion.

Jop­pa­towne 3, North East 2

The In­di­ans fall to 6-2 on the sea­son and 2-2 in the lower divi­sion.

The Mariners im­prove to 2-5 over­all and 1-3 in the Susque­hanna.

UCBAC Vol­ley­ball Pat­ter­son Mill 3, North East 0

The In­di­ans lose by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-14.

Maddie Bick­estaff had three kills for the In­di­ans, Is­abelle Evans made seven as­sists, McKayla Sch­nell recorded two kills and three blocks and Maddie Stitely added three kills and an ace for North East (1-5 over­all and Susque­hanna).

The Huskies im­prove to 4-3 over­all and 3-3 in the up­per divi­sion.

Youth Soc­cer Dou­ble­header ends with pair of 1-1 draws

The U14 Ce­cil Kickers bat­tled to a pair of 1-1 draws in a dou­ble­header against AFC over the week­end.

Gabriella Pi­leggi as­sisted a goal by Allyson Mik­las in Game 1, while Abby Cocco aided a goal by Erika Clarke in Game 2 for Ce­cil, which re­ceived four com­bined saves from Shadai Givens.
